Speech-Language Pathology Services

Our speech-language pathologists work to promote more effective communication skills through a multimodal approach. Our students work to enhance their verbal and non-verbal skills, use and understanding of receptive and expressive language, improved articulation and fluency skills, as well as establishing an alternative means of communication if necessary. Augmentative/alternative communication may include use of sign language, use of pictures to communicate, or an augmentative communication technology. Our therapists work closely with the school and the students’ families to determine what system of communication is the most efficient for the student. In addition to speech-language therapy services, our therapists are also highly experienced in assessing students with feeding and swallowing challenges as they relate to the educational setting.
